Nashville-born artist Talon David stands as the sole writer, producer, and audio engineer behind her entire catalog. She was raised by two professional performers who were so tired of playing country covers, that all she heard growing up was classic rock, Motown, 2000s pop, and Broadway cast recordings. Music was her first language in many ways, and it wasn't long before she was gravitating to the piano to pen her own melodies. At seventeen, she won a nationwide GRAMMY Foundation songwriting contest for her track "Deep Snow," which allowed her to attend the GRAMMY awards in 2017. It was the validation she needed to spur her on through the trials of a music degree, a global pandemic, and learning how to produce and engineer her own music. In 2020, Talon had her first commercial release with an EP called Talon, like the Claw. Since then, she has released three albums, three EPs, and a myriad of singles. Drawing on her background as an actress and audiobook narrator, including work on Bridgerton, Neal Morse's progressive rock operas, and 150+ recorded books, she treats her releases like manuscripts, and aims to create a product that is layered and themed, while also poking fun at itself. After all, music should ultimately be fun. And uplifting. If Talon does nothing else, she hopes to uplift and inspire hope in anyone who hears her un-genred sound.
